Upgrade issues

These are the known issues when upgrading or downgrading between versions of the Monitoring components.

To ensure compatibility, ensure that all Monitoring components are on exactly the same version.

Upgrading to 0.7.0 or later

On upgrading Monitoring components to 0.7.0 or later, the behavior of the Monitoring daemon with service classes has changed. Service classes are now always monitored but are filtered by a new configuration item - .mon.cfg.monitorServiceClassTypes.

If connected to a Refinery 5.0 or later install, refinery_process service classes will be monitored regardless of this configuration item.

Downgrading from 0.6.0 or later to 0.5.0 or earlier

If downgrading the Monitoring components from version 0.6.0 or later to version 0.5.0 or earlier, a manual change to the configuration is required before running the downgraded versions.

Move all configuration from

/etc/kx-refinery-monitoring-*component*/default/

up one level to

/etc/kx-refinery-monitoring-*component*

and delete the default/ folder.
